So my flatmate and I are watching BSG (she's a newbie), and we just finished "Sacrifice". And once again, I'm so annoyed by the plot contrivance that is Kara shooting Lee.
Okay. Let's look at this tactically. Kara knows, for sure, that Ellen Tigh and Lee are both in the bar, and she can assume that Dee is, right? And she must know that one of them will recognise her.
Which is what happens. ELLEN TIGH recognises Kara and gives her away. Okay. So. Do we, as viewers, believe that Kara, who's known for planning missions, would make such a stupid mistake? And do we think Ellen knows what those Marines look like? Though we see Ellen hitting on Lee and Tom Zarek, there's no indication she likes Marines-they don't have enough power.
So why wouldn't Kara (who can plan missions and is fairly good at strategic thinking), go into the bar? It's bothered me every time I watched it.
Thoughts? I can't believe I'm discussing Sacrifice only hours before the Series Finale, but I needed opinions...my flatmate wanted to discuss why Kara went in instead of sending someone else. Because she's upset about Kara shooting Lee because she's a Lee/Kara shipper. I didn't even have to convince her, either, she watched the brig scene and was like, "I want them to get together". When we watched Scar she was so excited, and then, not, of course.
